Mr. Modock "Doc" Satterwhite

November 27th, 1931 - August 27th, 2009

Doc Satterwhite was born in Greenville, South Carolina on November 27th, 1931. At an early age he joined the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina. He was educated in the Greenville County Schools and was valedictorian of his class. A United States Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict, and was employed with Woodside Mills in Simpsonville for thirty years, Gault's Cleaners and the Fountain Inn Recreation Department for twenty years. He continued to work until is health declined. On July 10, 2009 the City of Fountain Inn honored him by naming the gymnasium in the Activities Center in his honor. He also received a proclamation from the South Carolina House of Representatives.
